Samu emphasised his “desire to help the team” after reaching 40 goals in blue and white against Malmö FF (2-1)

After scoring twice in just six minutes against Malmö (2-1), Samu expressed his “pride” at reaching 40 goals for FC Porto and stressed that, despite his good individual performance, “the most important thing was the victory”. “Upset with the goal conceded” in the final moments, the forward assured that the squad will “work to ensure it doesn't happen again”, always with their eyes on the “objective of finishing in the top eight”: “We'll take it game by game and then see where we are at the end”.

The two goals
“I managed to help the team, but the most important thing was the victory. I always try to give my best for the team and do what the coach asks me to do.”

The advantage achieved in the first half
“In the first few minutes, they won the duels, but we improved as time went by and took the lead, which led us to victory.”

A lesson in the final seconds
“We were upset about that goal we conceded. Every detail counts towards our objective, and the coach always asks us to stay focused on the game so that we don't give anything away to the opposition. We'll work to improve and make sure this doesn't happen again.”

Intensity in the dressing room too
“The manager always pushes us in the dressing room, and that's good for waking us up.”

The objective in the league phase
“Our objective is to finish in the top eight and we will do everything we can to be among the best. We will take it game by game and then see where we are at the end.”

40 goals for FC Porto
“I am proud. I always give my all for this club. Whether things go well or not, I always show my desire to give my best to help the team. I'm very happy and I hope there will be many more.”

The connection to Rodrigo Mora
“It had been a while since he had given me an assist. I was always telling him that he didn't give me passes for goals, but luckily today he did and I congratulate him because he played a very complete game. He knows that, when he wants to, he's the best.”
