Martim Fernandes scored his first goal for the first team and was voted MVP of FC Porto 3-0 Gil Vicente

FC Porto beat Gil Vicente at home in the 19th matchday of the championship (3-0), and Martim Fernandes made his debut scoring for the main squad, ending up being voted MVP of the match. “Scoring my first goal for this great club is a dream come true,” confided the defender before thanking the group for “playing a good game and making the goal possible”.

A shot that raised the stadium
“This award is very special to me because today I scored my first goal for this great club. It was a dream come true. The team trusted me and we all played well together, making my goal possible.”

A special game
“I want to highlight the team's performance. We were consistent in all parts of the game, it was a sweet victory for everyone and even more so for me because of the goal and the man of the match award. It's always good to win an award to boost your confidence.”

The goal
“To be honest, I heard some teammates saying ‘don't shoot’, others saying ‘shoot’, but then there was nothing else to do and I had to shoot. I celebrated for a friend of mine, I had already agreed with him that I would if I scored. I could already feel it.”

The feelings after the shot
“I didn't believe the ball would go in. It went in and I was very happy. It was my first goal and it's always good.”

A versatile full-back
“I’ve been playing on the left since last year. The coach has given me the confidence to play on that side, and that confidence means a lot. It’s great when you have the confidence of your coach and teammates. I feel very comfortable now on both wings.”

The common objective
“The blue and white family always wants FC Porto to be at the top. Today we showed that we are at the top and we want to continue on this path.”

Welcomed by the residents of “Joãozinho”
“It’s always nice to receive the affection of these people who go through so many difficulties but love FC Porto and want the best for the Club. We also want the best for them. I was moved when Luísa went to Olival. Not everyone has the same privileges, and it’s up to us to help and do our best.”
