Victor Froholdt addressed the need to “turn the page” after the tie against Sporting (1-1)
“Disappointed” by the tie conceded in the final minutes of the classic (1-1), Victor Froholdt recalled that the team “remains in the first place, with a four-point lead, and there are still many games to play” and that Porto will “continue to give their all every day.” “We had an incredible atmosphere in the stadium. We always feel like we have an extra player on the field when we play in front of our fans”, said the midfielder in gratitude before explaining that it is necessary to “turn the page”, especially because “the next opponent is the most important” and “difficult challenges are coming”: “It is important that we continue on our path to prepare ourselves as much as possible for the games that follow.”
Nothing has changed
“We are disappointed, we were ahead on the scoreboard for the last twenty minutes, it was a difficult game and we are disappointed that we didn't win it, but we are still in first place. We could have increased our lead to more points, but we are still four points ahead, there are many games left and we will continue to give our all.”
The tireless support from the stands
“We had an incredible atmosphere in the stadium. We always feel like we have an extra player on the field when we play in front of our fans. I have nothing to say about the blue and white fans, they did an incredible job today as usual, we are very satisfied and we really want to repay them for their support.”
The game plan
“We wanted to control the game. When we had the ball, Sporting always dropped back into their defensive midfield. We tried to press high up the pitch to win the ball back and counterattack, but they were also good today.”
Full focus on CD Nacional
“We go into every game with the same mentality, regardless of the result. The next opponent is the most important one. We have to turn the page. We are disappointed to have lost some points, but there are many games left and difficult challenges ahead, so it is important that we continue on our path and give our all every day to prepare as much as possible for the games ahead.”
