FC Porto faced Sporting in the 21st matchday of the League (1-1)

FC Porto tied 1-1 with Sporting in the 21st matchday of the championship and remains four points ahead of the rival at the top of the table. Leading 1-0 until the 100th minute with a goal from debutant Seko Fofana, the Dragons saw the visitors tie in the last play of the classic, in a rebound from a penalty saved by Diogo Costa.

Francesco Farioli made three changes to the starting eleven - Jakub Kiwior, Alberto Costa, and Victor Froholdt started in the positions occupied by Thiago Silva, Francisco Moura, and Pablo Rosario in Rio Maior - and throughout the first half, both teams played cautiously. The only chance worth mentioning belonged to the home team and came in the 20th minute, after a long pass from Kiwior, received by Pepê, a one-two with Borja Sainz, and a touch from Samu.

Alan Varela shot wide after this excellent team play, and there were no further dangerous moments in front of goal, despite successive attacks by the blue and whites inside the visitors' area. At half time, the score remained 0-0, with FC Porto having had two shots on goal and Sporting just one – but neither team hit the target.

Deniz Gül replaced Samu after the break, and the second half was a continuation of the first. Before the first goal of the night, the 49,378 spectators who filled Estádio do Dragão saw Thiago Silva, Seko Fofana, and Rodrigo Mora replace Jakub Kiwior, Gabri Veiga, and Borja Sainz.

In the 72nd minute, following Mora's work inside the area, Alberto Costa tried first, Fofana second, Gül third, and only on the fourth attempt did the Ivory Coast international midfielder find the back of the net with a shot that Rui Silva was unable to stop (1-0).

The Lisbon side tried to respond through Trincão, and it was with Francisco Moura replacing Martim Fernandes that they benefited from a penalty past the stoppage time given. Diogo Costa saved the shot, but he was powerless to stop Luis Suárez's rebound (1-1).
