Pablo Rosario highlighted the team’s “support for one another and intensity” after the VfB Stuttgart 1-2 FC Porto match

“It’s not easy to win” in Stuttgart, “only two teams had won there this season,” but FC Porto managed to “stay together and maintain the same intensity from the first to the last minute,” winning 2-1 and taking the lead in the round of 16 of the Europa League. “We are very proud of the performance,” stresses Pablo Rosario, for whom “teamwork was what made the difference”: “You could see how much we want to help each other at all times. The intensity, the fire we have inside us, all of that makes the difference. The players who came off the bench were a huge help as well. We did all of this for 100 or 105 minutes; it was a great game on our part.”

A statistic that adds to the achievement
“It’s not easy to win here. Only two teams had won here this season, and we were the third. Congratulations to the team, who played a very good game, and also to the fans, who were spectacular. When you play three away games against opponents who are fighting for the same objectives, you come here and put on this performance… we are very proud.”

A family on the field
“We scored more goals than they did, but above all, what made the difference was our teamwork, you could see how much we want to help each other at all times. The intensity, the fire we have inside us, all of that makes the difference. The players who came off the bench were a huge help, too. We did all of this for 100 or 105 minutes, it was a great game on our part.”

The lesson to take away for the rest of the season
“If we look at how the game unfolded, we had some moments where we struggled, but the most important thing was staying together and maintaining the same intensity from the first to the last minute. I’m very proud of the team; we won this incredibly tough away game, and now we have another one to play.”
