The Visible IN global campaign will take place during the women’s football match against JuveForce on March 22

FC Porto’s women’s team, in coordination with the FC Porto Foundation, will join the international Visible IN campaign, promoted by Fundación Itinerarium, in the match against JuveForce, scheduled for March 22 at 15:00, at the CTFD Jorge Costa (Olival). FC Porto is the only Portuguese club taking part in this global initiative.

For this match, FC Porto’s players will take to the field with a special lettering on the back of their jerseys. The typeface was created by Anna Vives, a young artist with Down syndrome born in Barcelona and the creator of the world’s first social typeface, introduced in 2012.

This campaign is gaining significant international visibility this year, with the participation of leading clubs from different continents, including FC Barcelona (Spain), SC Corinthians (Brazil), CA River Plate (Argentina), Kaizer Chiefs (South Africa), CD Universidad Católica (Chile), FC Dynamo Kyiv (Ukraine) and Club América (Mexico), reinforcing the global reach of its message of inclusion and social equality and positioning FC Porto within an international movement.

In a context of growing visibility for women’s football, the women’s team was chosen as the ideal platform to mark World Down Syndrome Day (celebrated on March 21). This choice is particularly meaningful as it connects sporting development with a message of equality and representation.

The jerseys worn by FC Porto’s players in this match will later be auctioned on the MatchWornShirt platform, with the proceeds equally shared between Fundación Itinerarium and the Fundação Futebol Clube do Porto.

André Villas-Boas, President of FC Porto, described the initiative as “an action of great importance” for the Club.

“This campaign is very special and highlights the role of people with Down syndrome in society. Through the FC Porto Foundation, the Club reinforces its commitment to inclusion and social responsibility, transforming sport into a platform for inclusion and respect.”

Within FC Porto’s structure, inclusion is a well-established reality, with athletes with Down syndrome integrated across different sports. Diana Torres, featured in the image illustrating this initiative, is one of eight athletes with Down syndrome representing the Club.

In addition to Diana Torres (Para Swimming), this group includes Ana Castro (Para Table Tennis), Tiago Bessa (Table Tennis), Gabriel Santos (Para Swimming), César Rocha (Youth Futsal), César Morais (Basketball and Futsal), Daniel Maia (Basketball and Futsal) and Afonso Fernandes (Youth Futsal).
