Message from André Villas-Boas after securing the 31st league title
Dear FC Porto fans,
Today we once again embrace another national league title. And we celebrate, clearly and unequivocally, the way we achieved it. With pride, professionalism, and worthy of Porto!
This title belongs first and foremost to our players and coaching staff, for their dedication, commitment, and ability to unite around a common goal. Something that has been present since the very start of the season. It also belongs to everyone working behind the scenes: our staff, our structure, the medical department, scouting, the academy, and all those who work daily at Olival and at Estádio do Dragão, carrying the responsibility of representing this badge.
I dedicate this triumph entirely to Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa, the President of Presidents, and to Jorge Costa. Two symbols of a history that constantly demands more from us. A history that carries weight, that honours us, and that obliges us to rise to the occasion every single day. A history that has instilled belief and faith in the pursuit of success.
This season began with a clear decision: to change, with courage, but above all with method. The appointment of Francesco Farioli was a choice based on high standards, coherence, and attention to detail. It was a project built to win. And it won. This title bears the mark of a coach who quickly understood what FC Porto is all about: its people, its values, the daily demands, and the commitment to victory. He embraced the challenge, led the group, and raised the competitive level of the team, setting several records along the way, with the possibility of still reaching the points record set in 2021/22. A remarkable and exemplary achievement.
We also won because we identified our needs and approached the market with clear criteria. We didn’t sign players on impulse, we signed based on profile, character, talent, and ambition.
We made key changes within the sporting structure, strengthening it, improving its organisation, and raising standards across the board, ensuring those demands were met on a daily basis.
To our fans, I say what I always say: our strength lies in our unity. It has been a demanding season, with many obstacles, and there will always be noise around FC Porto. But when we stand together, when the Dragons are united, when the blue and white “Famiglia” focuses on itself, we are what we have always been: respected for our courage and fighting spirit.
Congratulations to everyone. This title belongs to FC Porto. And from tomorrow, as always, we go back to work. Because at FC Porto, celebrating is just a moment. Winning is a commitment.
