Osorio arrived at FC Porto on January 31 and became national champion in May
Just as the winter transfer window was closing, Yordan Osorio was officialised as a newcomer at FC Porto, on a loan from Tondela. The Venezuelan central defender, 24 years old, experienced again what he had already lived in 2006, playing for Zamora, assuring it is an “honour and a reason to be proud” to see his name linked to the history of FC Porto.
“Great season and great group, as great as this club is. Everyone should be praised, including the fans, who always supported us. For me, this was similar to the joy I lived in 2006, when I became champion for the first time, playing for Zamora. A title like this is always important and it means a lot in the career of a footballer”, Osorio stated, talking exclusively to fcporto.pt.
When it came to dedicating the title, the central defender didn’t hesitate: “I dedicate this victory to the people of Venezuela, and to Venezuela, as everyone is going through a hard time”. To Osorio, the day he went to the Museum with the rest of the squad will be a day to remember for the rest of his life. “Of course it’s important to be a part of the history of this Museum and this great club, it’s an honour and a reason of pride to have my name linked to FC Porto. I will never forget this day”.
Until the end of May, fcporto.pt will be publishing statements from the players and coaches that helped FC Porto win the trophy of National Champions in 2017/18.
