FC Porto tied in Braga (1-1) and assured the 30th participation in the final of the Portuguese Cup

This Tuesday, FC Porto qualified to the 30th final of the Portuguese Cup in the history of the club. The national champions tied against Sporting de Braga, in Minho (1-1), after having won 3-0 in the first leg, and will be fighting for the trophy at Estádio do Jamor. Danilo Pereira scored the blue and white goal, in the second-half, after Paulinho gave the advantage for the home team.

The Dragons went in with seven changes in comparison to the last match, against the same team, at the same stadium, four days ago. Éder Militão, Felipe, Danilo and Jesús Corona were the only ones remaining in the starting team after the victory in matchday 27 of the League, by 3-2.

Adrián López, one of the new faces in the second match, created a good opportunity right at the start, in a header, but the ball went just over the top bar. From there, the home team took more control of the match.

Braga had a goal disallowed for offside on Ricardo Horta (13m), but reached the advantage before the break, with Paulinho scoring after beating Felipe - the blue and white defender called for a foul - and lobbed Fabiano. Before - and after that - there should be a mention to the constant tackles on Corona, the entire match.

Sérgio Conceição wanted more from the blue and whites and did some changes to prove it, replacing Adrián López for Otávio (55m) and André Pereira for Marega (66m). The national champions improved and reached the tie in a set piece, resulting from the hard work done in Olival. Corona took the corner-kick - another assistance for Tecatito - and Danilo went up for a good header, at the far post (74m).

With the door open for the final of the Portuguese Cup, there was time for the debut of Mamadou Loum with the blue and white jersey, as Felipe was sent-off, in the final minutes of the match. The blue and whites are now waiting for the match opposing Sporting and Benfica, scheduled for this Wednesday, to know the opponent in the decisive match of the competition.
