Blue and white coach congratulated the Dragons victory over Tondela, 3-0, at Estádio do Dragão, for matchday 14 of the championship
FC Porto said goodbye to the championship this civil year with a victory over Tondela (3-0), for matchday 14 of Liga NOS. At the end of the match, Sérgio Conceição congratulated the blue and whites for the “above average performance” and praised the quality of the team, which he wants to keep “working on” to “get results and good performances”.
Mission accomplished
“It was a good performance from us, as we realised Tondela could play with five defenders, meaning three central defenders. We prepared for the match well, the players went in strong and we scored an early goal, creating the possibility of scoring another goal in the first minutes, despite facing a competent team in away matches. I just want to point out the great performance we had.”
Keep improving
“After the match against Feyenoord, I said we had a lot to work on, to understand what we could and should have done better. We always work to get what matters the most in football and in life, and that’s results. We wanted to get those results with good performances. We had an above average performance and that’s thanks to the players. They understand our dynamics, and our offensives and defensive processes. We were prepared and committed to getting the ball when we lost it and we had an above average performance.”
Danilo being out
“Danilo was and is conditioned. He had a small muscle issue at the end of the last match and it should last three or four days. We didn’t want to risk a longer injury time, so we managed the situation.”
Bayer Leverkusen’s quality
“We are also a team that belongs in the Champions League.”
