Matheus Uribe and Francisco Conceição praised the fairness of the blue and white victory over Marítimo (2-1)

FC Porto beat Marítimo (2-1), in Funchal, for the closing match of matchday 20. After the match, Matheus Uribe dedicated the victory to Alfredo Quintana, the goalkeeper of the handball team, who, this Monday had a cardiac arrest during training. MVP Francisco Conceição, on his turn, admitted to be “even happier” for the three points than for the award of man of the match, admitting he is “living a dream” in playing for the main squad of FC Porto.

Matheus Uribe
“This is a difficult pitch. We faced an excellent team, strong at home. We scored and conceded the tie shortly after, but we remained balanced and were able to get the result we wanted close to the end. As we hold the ball for most of the match, we may lose focus or watch as a long pass complicates things for us. We attack frequently, but we need to remain focused on the defence. Every match is like a final for us and FC Porto is ready to face every match with determination and ambition. I want to dedicate this victory to Alfredo Quintana. Our mind is with him. Stand strong.”

Francisco Conceição
“I am happy for the nomination, but happier that the team won. We worked hard and were the best team on the pitch. We deserved this victory. I’m living a dream as I’m playing for the main squad of FC Porto, and I want to thank my team mates for helping me adjust. I will keep working to help the team.”
