Playing as if it were “for the championship" and “serious in what they did”, André Franco scored a goal and did an assist in Chaves, against Vilar de Perdizes (2-0), in the 3rd knockout round of the Portuguese Cup. The midfielder, who played as left fullback this Friday night, said that he will “give it all wherever the coach wants” him to play and revealed, as key to the clear success, the fact that he “strictly followed the 20” given “over the last two weeks”.

Evanilson, scorer of the second goal of the night, “which was very important given the long time out”, was “very happy for the goal”, but even more “for being physically well, training and helping the team with goals”.

Martim Fernandes, on the other hand, lived “any kid's dream” as he debuted for the first team at the age of 17 and, still with an “indescribable” feeling for everything he experienced, had the necessary awareness to thank the support of the fans in Chaves: “It's the first time I have so many people supporting me. It's important to have fans who love the club from the stands as much as we love it on the pitch”.

“It's a team that we studied well. We knew that in the championship they have achieved very good results and demonstrated quality in what they do. We prepared this game as if it were another one for the championship and this was clear on the field. We were serious in what we did. Nowadays, in Portugal, there is more and more quality in the lower divisions. Luckily, we were able to score in the first half and make things easier. I feel well. Regardless of the position, I am a FC Porto player and wherever the coach wants me to play, I will do my best. In terms of attitude and mindset, nothing changed at all. It’s just a different position outside my comfort zone. I tried to take it seriously and follow the instructions I was given over the last two weeks and I think it went well. I am prepared to play in all positions the coach wants me to play. I'll be ready. The secret is to face the Portuguese Cup as if it were the championship or the Champions League, not disregarding anyone and always giving it all.”

“It was an important goal for me as I’ve been out for a long time. I'm happy to be helping the team and I want to use this win to play a great game in the Champions League. It was a good game from the whole team, we could have built on the result more, but we will continue to work. I was so happy to play and score. It was a very competent game from our team, we only managed to score two, and we have to improve our game close to the area, so we will work hard during the week to be even better in the next game. I saw a video where they seemed really happy to play against us and I think that's really good of them. It was a good game from their team, I hope they continue like this and I wish them good luck for what remains of the season. We will continue our evolution. A few days ago, I was very happy with the goal, but what made me truly happy was being physically well and being able to train. I hope no one picks up an injury, it is very complicated and I am happy to be able to help my friends and teammates with goals. Above all, happy for being well.”

“We started the game well, we got on top of them and we didn't give them any chance to reach our goal. The first half was harder, with the opponent closed in the back, but we managed to score with a big shot from André Franco from outside the area and, from there, we unlocked the game and the second half was more relaxed. To debut for the main squad is a dream come true for any kid, here at FC Porto and anywhere else. Playing for this club, for all the kids who are born to play football, is indescribable. It's the first time I've had so many people supporting me. It is important to have fans who love the club from the stands as we love it on the pitch.”
