After seeing “a good game from the team”, Vítor Bruno has no doubt that “the best team on the pitch” won, and again with a clean sheet. “It was a victory for the players on an extremely difficult pitch, there is a lot of merit in them and I am very happy for them”, the coach added.

“Overall, it was a good match from team, but, in the first half, we often missed finding the right passes and identifying the opportunities where they existed. The team scored the goal and had one more attempt at the second, which they continued to look for in the second half. Until the 2-0, the game was somewhat divided, but from then on, the team controlled every moment of the game. It was a victory of the players in an extremely difficult pitch, there is a lot of merit from them and I am very happy for them. The hunger to win was visible especially when we didn't have the ball, but sometimes we lacked a better connection in the attack. It was a clear victory for the best team on the pitch and again we kept the clean sheet.”

The strategy
“They were calculated risks, but, when we had the ball, we didn't deviate much from our standard. On the set pieces, it has been a recent habit to have men close to the opposing area to prevent potential counter-attacks. The team was bold and ambitious, it was important to go in strong and go looking for what is ours. These are three more points in our walk.”

It was Rodrigo Mora's debut as a starter in the first team, but sometimes the coach's biggest victory is to feel the growth of the players and see that they gain skills to match a very high level of demand. He is growing and at the moment he has the skills to develop the football that so many people praise and that I love. He has to be prepared because now everything is much faster, but he has given good signs.”

Leaders, despite on condition
“At this stage, we are little interested, there are no calendar year champions or winter champions. We want to take a real cup to the Museum at the end of the season. It is true that we are ahead, but our opponents have yet to play. Let's see how this matchday ends.”
