Pablo Rosario's statements after Casa Pia 2-1 FC Porto

After the first defeat in the championship, in Rio Maior (1-2), Pablo Rosario showed “pride in the team” because they created “many opportunities, enough to score more than one goal” on a “pitch that is not suitable for the Portuguese Primeira Liga”: “If you want to promote this league in Europe and stand out from the others, you can't have games on pitches like this. It's impossible”. Grateful to the “fans who stood by the players” and “continued to support them for over 100 minutes”, the Dominican international also assured that the group will “get back up, recover, and prepare in the best way we can for the next game” against Sporting.

The first defeat in the championship
“We knew it would happen one day, and today was that day. That's football. Everyone saw this game on a pitch that is not suitable for the Primeira Liga. If you want to promote this league in Europe and stand out from the rest, you can't have games on pitches like this. It's impossible. They went to our goal in the first half and scored two goals, then we created many opportunities, but we knew a defeat would come one day, and it was today. Now we have to get back up, recover, and prepare in the best way we can for the next game. I am very confident, I know the response the team will give in preparation for Monday's game. The fans were with us, even after the defeat. Not all teams are this lucky; they continued to support us for over 100 minutes. I'm proud of the team. It's unusual to say that after a defeat, but if we look at how we reacted and stayed in the game, it's something to be admired. I'm very confident for this week.”

Without the deserved reward
“We created many chances, enough to score more than one goal, but sometimes the ball doesn't go in and, as I said, this pitch is not suitable for the Portuguese Primeira Liga. Sometimes goals come more easily, but today was not one of those days. We lost once, but I remain very confident in this team and now we have to recover. We have a week to prepare for the next home game.”

Unshakeable confidence
“It doesn't influence anything. I'm very proud of the team, if we look at what we've created on a pitch that isn't suitable for the First Division... creating so much, you can only be proud of the team. Sometimes luck isn't on our side, but we've only lost one game, we have to look inward and I'm sure we'll have a very good week. It's time to reflect and look at our qualities.”
