William Gomes left words of encouragement for Borja Sainz after the victory against FC Arouca (3-1)

In a “very difficult game” in which everyone had agreed “in the locker room that they would play for Borja Sainz, who is going through a difficult time,” William Gomes came on to score a goal and provide an assist against FC Arouca (3-1), something he “had been needing for some time.” Even with his individual highlight, the winger was still “happier for the victory” on a night when FC Porto managed to “do what the coach had asked.”

A night of strong emotions
“First of all, I want to give strength to Borja, who is going through a difficult time. In the locker room, we agreed that we would play for him. We want to wish him a lot of strength, we are all together. It was a very difficult game, but we managed to do what the coach had asked and came away with the victory. The hug with Pepê... he knows me very well. I am my own biggest critic, and for some time now I needed a game like this, where I come on and play well. Thank God I did well, I scored the goal and made an assist, but I am even happier about the victory.”
