Diogo Costa insists that “the whole club is united in this blue and white spirit”

FC Porto bowed out of the Europa League in the quarter-finals after conceding a defeat away to Nottingham Forest (1-0), and Diogo Costa admitted that the result “hurt a lot”, but pointed out that the team remains “standing” in the “fight for two more titles” the Dragons want to win and assured that “that is what he will continue to work towards”. “We are united and have the strength to change the course of FC Porto,” concluded the captain, making no secret of his “enormous pride in being a Dragon”.

An unwanted outcome
“It hurts a lot, but above all, I am immensely proud of our team. What we are building is proving very positive. The whole club is united in this blue and white spirit. We are building something very positive and today is proof of that. Even with one man down, we played a great game and could have sealed the round. It could have been settled in the first leg, but we’re still standing.”

Strength in unity
“We are building something very positive. All blue and white fans, supporters and Club staff are united and strong enough to change the life of FC Porto. That is what we are focused on. Our unity and strength were proven today. I am immensely proud to be a Dragon.”

Two competitions to fight for
“Our mindset has always been to take it one game at a time. We want to focus on the present, just as Thiago Silva said at the press conference. We’re out of the Europa League, but we’re still in the run for two titles we want to win, and that’s what we’ll be working towards.”
