Héctor Herrera and Miguel Layún were in the starting team in the Mexican victory over Germany (1-0), for the first matchday of Group F of the 2018 World Cup. Hirving Lozano scored the single goal of the match, on minute 35.

The two Dragons played the full 90 minutes of the match, unlike Jesús Corona, who didn’t leave the bench. Herrera played in the heart of the midfield, as usual, while Miguel Layún, who was loaned to Seville in the second half of season 2017/2018, played as right midfielder, assuming defensive and offensive roles.

Mexico takes the lead of Group F of the World Cup, and will face South Korea in the second matchday, scheduled for June 23, Friday.
