FC Porto was behind 2-0 at halftime, in the home match again Boavista, made it 2-2, but wasted a penalty for the turnaround and had a disallowed goal

FC Porto tied against Boavista (2-2), at Estádio do Dragão, in the derby at Porto, for matchday 19. The visitors were winning by two goals, scored by Jackson Porozo (8m) and Alberth Elis (45m+1), but the second-half fully beloged to the blue and whites: Mehdi Taremi (54m) and Sérgio Oliveira (82m), from penalty, made it 2-2, but Sérgio Oliveira then missed a second penalty (86m), before Evanilson had the 3-2 disallowed by the VAR (89m).

Only two minutes in, Alberth Elis forced Marchesín to a great save in the first goal opportunity in the derby, but FC Porto replied, with Marega just a few centimetres too short after a cross from Corona (7m). In the next play, Boavista moved ahead of the scoreboard, thanks to Jackson Porozo, who escaped his marker in the near post, in a corner-kick taken by Gustavo Sauer (8m). In the lead, Boavista closed behind even more on the defence, pretty much sealing every path to the goal defended by Léo Jardim, who had to do a good save to a low shot from Sérgio Oliveira (20m).

On the other end of the pitch, Alberth Elis again forced Marchesín to shine (31m), but the Honduran forward managed to score on the third attempt, making it 2-0 for Boavista just before the break (45m+1). At the start of the second-half, Otávio made a sort of warning for what was coming: Mehdi Taremi got to a lost ball in the area and beat Léo Jardim, taking advantage of a deflection to score (54m). In complete control of the match, FC Porto went for the tie and reached it 82 minutes in, with Sérgio Oliveira scoring from a penalty, for a tackle from Devenish on Evanilson (82m).

By then, Sérgio Conceição had already sent in Francisco Conceição, debuting for the main team of FC Porto, and the winger was the one tackled for the second penalty of the evening, but Sérgio Oliveira hit the post this time, wasting the clear opportunity to turn the scoreboard around (86m). Before the 90 minutes mark, Evanilson made it 3-2, but the VAR called Manuel Mota to look at the footage and the goal was disallowed as the Brazilian forward controlled the ball with his hand before the shot (89m). If was the last play in a truly frustrating derby that costed the Dragons two points.
