Pablo Rosario believes “it’s possible to move forward” in the Europa League

FC Porto will battle for a place in the Europa League semi-finals in England after drawing 1-1 with Nottingham Forest in the first leg of the quarter-finals, and Pablo Rosario believes “it is possible to go through”, but points out that “we need to score more goals”. “Disappointed with the result”, the Dominican international wants to focus on “the performance” and “shift the focus” to the trip to Estoril (Sunday, 20h30).

Result does not reflect the performance
“If we think about the chances we created, we realise we could have scored more than one goal. I’m disappointed with the result, but we have to focus on our performance. We proved our energy once again and had the support of our fans from the first to the last minute.”

The own goal
“It happens. It’s part of football, it’s something that can happen. We stayed united and that was the most important thing. We could have been winning 3-0 by the time we conceded the own goal, but that’s part of football, these things happen, and after that we didn’t give away any more chances. We’re a bit disappointed with the result, but our focus is on Estoril.”

Key to success
“We need to score more goals. It’s as simple as that. Based on this performance, I’d say we can move forward, but we need to score more goals. We didn’t concede any chances and that’s our focus for the next game. Now we have another very important challenge in three days’ time and we want to recover well.”

Fitness
“We’re all in good shape, both the internationals and the players who stayed here during the break. We’ve worked hard, and we’re in great physical condition. We don’t have a set starting eleven, we have 25 players available to start. We’ve proven that throughout the season and we’re continuing to do so. Nothing will change in the coming weeks. We need to recover and focus on Sunday’s match.”
